HANGOVER TAKEOVER
Series curated by Istituto Svizzero

Hangover Takeover is a series of talks and screenings dedicated to five books published in 2026, connected to the Istituto’s exhibition programme and artist residencies. Conceived as a marathon, the series brings together a range of artistic practices, linked by recurring themes such as queer forms of resistance, the ironic manipulation of images, and the rewriting of places and alternative histories,  moderated by Lucrezia Calabrò Visconti and Barbara Casavecchia.

Vincent Grange presents The House of Dorothy, a book stemming from his eponymous 2025 exhibition at Istituto Svizzero in Milan. Marco Pezzotta (RM), former fellow, presents Decay, an anthology tracing the last ten years of RM’s work. Pauline Boudry and Renate Lorenz present silent speeches, a publication surveying the artistic duo’s career, produced on the occasion of their exhibition how we always survived at Istituto Svizzero in Rome in 2025. Alfredo Aceto, former fellow, introduces a new monograph dedicated to his work and Fastcash, an artist’s book for children exploring the narrative possibilities of repetition and pattern. To close the marathon, Giorgia Basch presents Hexenkurse, reflecting on the radical contribution to art history and feminism represented by the practice of Doris Stauffer, whose work is currently featured in the group exhibition Outlaws at Istituto Svizzero in Rome.
